Day old chickens are simply enchanting;)  Yep. We got baby chicks again.  How could anybody resist these little darlings?

  1. I hope you don't dye them like in your picture previous! ;) They are darling. When I was ten years old we got to keep some chicks until they hatched..then when they were less than two weeks old we had to return them. I'd love to do it again!I do remember not being so fond of them pooping on me though when I held them. Yuck :P

  4. Awh! :( Yeah, we had our troubles with hatching chicks our too. I remember one died as it was trying to hatch, another died after it hatched. Only three made it out healthy and strong, but each of the three was a uniquely different color. And I loved them, and kept them in my closet in a big cardboard box fit with all the chicky necessities :)
Haha, glad to hear you didn't dye yours! I would be cool to have a hot pink chicky though. Oh how the roosters would crow when she came clucking around ;)

  5. aww! yeah when we tried to hatch them, none of them survived because the incubator overheated the day before they were supposed to hatch. it was very traumatic..
lol yep dyed chicks are pretty neat. i think they do something to put dye in the egg before they hatch.. they lose the color within a few weeks (after they lose all their fuzzy-ness ;)
